10 Factors To Know Regarding Robot Vacuum Deals You Didn't Learn In The Classroom

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t want. And  best home vacuum cleaner  with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.

Its design is also an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots could not do this. And all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is a good option for those who want both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to tell if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. These machines are equipped with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. These bots also have many additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like table legs and walls which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area which many robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.

If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place it is done easily. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't an essential feature for everyone however it can help you keep track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the best in the industry however, it's costly.

It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does an excellent job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet flooring, and a mopping function at a reasonable price. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock must be located near an outlet and have plenty of room to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be placed under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. The design is more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It makes use of an integrated map to draw an image of the unmovable items in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.

The elegant G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and a lot simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
